Incorporated in 1999, Woodsmere is a Victoria based, vertically integrated holding corporation specializing in land acquisitions, multi-family design, purpose-built rental development, and in-house property management. With a strong reputation as one of the industry’s leading apartment rental companies, we maintain and operate a real estate portfolio of purpose-built rental apartments across Western Canada. Registered in the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, our focus is the rental of multi-family residential apartments as well as, commercial and single-family home developments, and some townhome style housing projects.

With a mission to provide accessible accommodation, we undertake extensive market research studies and have identified and focused on communities with a critical shortage of multi-family apartment style housing units available for rent. Taking a walk through Woodsmere’s journey, the reflection of our dedication and innovation is represented in each of our developments and the collective experience of our team.

OUR FOUNDERS ARE LOCALLY BORN & RAISED.

President Danny Jadresko and his wife, Sandy, the comptroller, own and operate W&J Construction Ltd. and their symbiotic rental property management company, Woodsmere Holdings Corp. This dynamic duo is well known and respected throughout the sector for their keen understanding of leadership responsibilities, creative problem solving, and strategic planning. In the community, they are recognized for their numerous philanthropic contributions.

Pairing complimentary companies, Woodsmere focuses on long-term goals, while W&J utilizes its award-winning reputation to build the best construction projects in the marketplace. 

Since his entrance in the industry three decades ago, Danny has worked in virtually every aspect of construction, in addition to serving as a Director of several trade associations. His numerous designations include being a Registered Housing Professional (R.H.P.), Certified Residential Builder (C.R.B.) and R2000 Quality Plus Builder. He has earned a diploma from the B.C. Institute of Technology, as well as earning numerous certificates for Construction Management Programs.

Cody Jadresko has been immersed in the world of Land Development & Construction since a young age, with the goal of leading Woodsmere Holdings Corp. and W&J Construction Ltd. into the future. Raised in the industry by his mother, Sandy Jadresko (Comptroller), and his father, Danny Jadresko (President), Cody was taught how to manage and operate the family businesses. He has been operating heavy equipment since a young age and pursued post-secondary education studying business at both UVic & Camosun College.

Cody has accumulated vast knowledge and experience by attending business meetings with architects, engineers, consultants, and bankers, as well as by working side by side with his parents. Over time, Cody has developed a keen eye for finding prime development sites and designing site layouts with in-house designers.

As Danny & Sandy Jadresko step away from day-to-day operations, Cody has stepped in, adding a youthful perspective and bringing new, innovative ideas to Woodsmere and W&J, ensuring their future expansion and success.

Our partnership with sister company W&J Construction Ltd. strengthens our competitive advantage over competitors by imparting intimate knowledge of our building’s construction. This advantage transcends construction, continuing into the lifespan of our buildings to better serve our tenant’s needs. The Woodsmere Carsharing Corp. program is a station-based electric car service for tenants. This amenity strengthens our commitment to affordability and sustainability by providing our tenants access to an electric car without the financial burden of vehicle ownership.

Founded in 1985, W&J Construction Ltd. is an award-winning building company recognized for its technological “know-how”, innovative spirit, and quality housing. The company roots are well established in residential construction and land development including both single and multi-family projects. To date, W&J Construction has handled the development all of Woodmere’s properties.

Woodsmere Carsharing Corp. is a carsharing program exclusive to Woodsmere Vancouver Island tenants. With a fleet of Chevy Bolt 100% electric vehicles, Woodsmere Carsharing provide an affordable and convenient alternative to private vehicle ownership.

In 2007, Principals of Woodsmere Holdings Corporation and W & J Construction Ltd., Daniel and Sandra Jadresko, added some European flare by purchasing several properties in Split, Croatia. With Croatia having entered the European Union July 1st 2013, these investments are well positioned for significant gain. Jadresko Nekretnine, d.o.o., a subsidiary of the Jadresko corporations is monitoring these European ventures and investments.

$50,000 Donation to the Simon Keith Foundation
August 23, 2025Woodsmere Holdings Corp. is proud to announce a generous donation of $50,000 to the Simon Keith Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and providing support for organ donation and transplant initiatives. This contribution reflects Woodsmere’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and supporting causes that make a lasting impact on people’s lives. The Simon Keith Foundation, founded by one of the world’s longest-living heart transplant recipients, works tirelessly to inspire and educate others while offering assistance to transplant recipients and their families. Through this donation, Woodsmere hopes to help advance the foundation’s mission and bring greater attention to the life-changing power of organ donation.

$100,000 Valentine’s gift to BC Cancer Foundation
February 14, 2014 Donation promises to advance cancer research on Vancouver Island. Danny and Sandy Jadresko have spent many memorable Valentine’s Days together over their 26 years of marriage, and this year they are celebrating with an extra special gift—rather than to each other—to the BC Cancer Foundation. The Jadresko’s, owner-operators of Woodmere Holdings Corp., chose to make a $100,000 donation to establish The Danny and Sandy Jadresko Cancer Research Fund with the BC Cancer Foundation.
